Handwoven textile utilizing cotton and linen yarns. The fabric incorporates woven shibori resist. Dyed with indigo and weld from the artist’s garden.

This study begins by creating a range of 7 values of indigo blue, ranging from lightest to darkest. The indigo dyed textiles were then mordanted and dyed in a bath of dried weld from my garden @ 50% weight of fiber. Panel #1 is weld only. Panel #9 is dyed with indigo only.
